This castle is one of the most renowned in Germany. It has been the residence of the counts of Eltz since 1157. The building was under construction for over 500 years and unifies in style the Middle Ages with the Renaissance. Eight residential towers surround the impressive castle ward. Inside the visitor finds the noble style of home furnishing cultivated over centuries. The treasure vault holds masterpieces made of gold, silver, ivory and porcelain as well as historical arms.
